Yachts wired
by an engineer
who built them.

Salt & Wire — marine electrical, navigation and onboard automation. Remote, on-board, on time.

Why it matters
When something breaks, when you plan a refit, when you buy a used boat — you need someone who knows yachts from keel to masthead. Not a technician. An engineer who built them.

Sunreef Yachts Hanse Group YYachts Exquisite

Salt & Wire is an independent marine electrical engineering practice founded in 2018 by an engineer with seven-plus years inside European yacht shipyards — Sunreef Yachts, Hanse Group, YYachts and Exquisite Yachts. The practice covers complete onboard electrical systems, navigation electronics (NMEA 2000, AIS, autopilots, chartplotters), DC and AC power, LiFePO4 and AGM battery banks, pre-purchase surveys and refit coordination. Work is delivered remotely across Europe with on-board visits when a project requires hands-on assessment.

About

I know yachts from the inside.

Naval architect by training, marine electrical engineer by trade. Hundreds of vessels, four shipyards, one consistent way of working: clear, documented, predictable.

I graduated in naval architecture and yacht construction. Since 2018 I have worked with yachts — first inside European shipyards, now as an independent consultant.

I specialise in marine electrical systems, navigation equipment and onboard automation. I have seen hundreds of yachts from the inside — because I built them, not just serviced them.

I work remotely — through documentation, photos and video. For more complex projects I visit in person: the marina, the boatyard, the vessel.

I only work with trusted, proven brands — Victron Energy, BEP Marine, Garmin, Raymarine and others — to ensure stability, reliability and predictable results. No cheap substitutes.

If a project requires joinery, GRP lamination, hydraulics or mechanics — I coordinate the whole scope with a network of trusted partner companies. One contact for the entire project.

Shipyard background: Sunreef Yachts (luxury sail and power catamarans, Gdańsk), Hanse Group (production sailing yachts), YYachts (carbon performance yachts) and Exquisite Yachts (superyacht systems integration).

What happens when something stops working.

You write, you call. Whether you have an 8-metre Albin Vega or a 20-metre Sunreef — the approach is the same: diagnosis, clear plan, concrete action.

01

Electrical schematics

I create and verify complete electrical documentation. 12V, 24V, 230V systems — clear, compliant with ABYC and ISO 13297 standards. Always readable, always up to date.

Do it yourself — with my guidance
Schematics + step-by-step remote coaching.
You install. You save.

For simpler projects I deliver ready electrical schematics and — as paid consultancy — guide you through the entire installation remotely. Video calls, photos, real-time answers. You pay for knowledge, not labour.

For projects requiring joinery, GRP lamination, hydraulics or mechanics — I work with trusted partner companies. One point of contact instead of chasing multiple specialists yourself.

Process

No surprises. You always know what and how much.

Before every project — assessment, quote, clear scope. If I cannot help, I say so and point you to someone who can.

01
Describe the problem

Via the form or email. Photos, a short video, a description — it does not have to be technical. The more detail, the better.

02
Initial assessment

Within 24 h I reply: whether I can help, remote or on-site, and how much it costs. No obligation.
