Salt & Wire Companion is a skipper's toolbox and a boat owner's logbook in one app: anchor watch with a real alarm, navigation on nautical charts, an automatic ship's log, maintenance records, fault diagnostics and marine engineering calculators — designed by the engineer behind Salt & Wire.

Every module answers a real situation on board: a dragging anchor at 3 a.m., a battery bank that will not charge, a logbook the insurer wants to see. No fluff, no feeds, no gamification.
Anchor watch that wakes you
GPS swing circle, custom no-go zones drawn on the chart, and an alarm that cuts through a closed eyelid — sound, flash and system notification even with the screen off. Optional remote mirror on a second phone ashore.
Navigation & passage tools
Route planning on nautical charts or satellite view, live speed, ETA and shore warnings, plus compass with night mode, docking assistant, tides, twilight and fuel range — the everyday numbers a skipper actually needs.
Ship's log that writes itself
Start a voyage and the app keeps the log: hourly position entries, track, weather notes — then a clean PDF at the end. Crew opinions, float plans and sea-time summaries export the same way.
Maintenance under control
Service log with photos and voice notes, reminders by date or engine hours, task lists, spare-parts inventory, fuel log, seasonal checklists and the boat's full document folder — offline, on your phone.
Diagnostics & engineering
A guided fault-finding wizard for electrical problems, wire cross-section and battery-bank calculators to ABYC / ISO practice, and a direct line to the Salt & Wire engineer when a case needs a professional.
Crew mode & safety
One PLUS phone covers the whole crew: tap-to-pair access, shared boat view, boat kitty and alarms on every phone. MOB one-touch return course, MAYDAY prompter and COLREG light recognition back you up when it matters.

Everything you enter lives locally on your phone. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no ads and no servers of ours holding a copy. Sharing features are off by default and protected by secret codes you control.
